I look at something that is quite rare called business development companies. These companies pay an extremely high yield but are taxed as ordinary income not making them attractive for taxable accounts. Many of these often pay out so much that the value of the company declines over time. Would you invest in these or junk bonds? Business Development Companies have a pretty spotty track record.
